Southern groove metal band Methane have announced release dates for their debut album on Sony/Dark Star records. February 17th the album will be available for pre-sale on CD format as well as streaming online. May 5th has been set for the CD to be officially released to stores worldwide.
The awaited album will include new recordings of older songs as well as new songs. Methane also released the cover art for the album created by Christian Wallin a Swedish artist who has done work for bands like Hardcore Superstar and Sister Sin.

Methane spent 2016 touring for its ‘Spit On Your Grave’ EP in Scandinavia. The Swedish metal band is made up of Tim Scott (vocals and bass) who has previously played in Nuclear Blast’s Revenant and HatePlow along with Rob Barret of Cannibal Corpse. Tim is joined by his brother Dylan Campbell and Jimi Masterbo on guitar and Andreas Strom playing drums. The group describes its sound of a mix of thrashmetal and southern rock creating a “southern metal” feel.
Methane is now planning a return trip to the U.S. supporting the new album being their second trip to North America. “The response to Methane in the states has been incredible, we can’t wait to get back out there! We will be releasing dates as soon as they finalized. We are also hoping on playing more of Europe this year with some festivals and hopefully a tour outside of Scandinavia.” Tim said.
